- Support Suppliers and Production with the flow of material through quality processes
- Support Engineering by providing a quality perspective in technical discussions and decisions
- Work with our partners in the supply chain to promote closed loop solutions and efficient material flow
- Manage and maintain inspection, rejection, and measurement criteria for a variety of parts
- Lead Material Review Board (MRB) meetings that seek material dispositions for nonconforming material
- Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activity for a variety of technical issues and seek closed loop solutions
- Integrate with collaborative technical teams to solve a variety of problems
- Collect and analyze datasets to inform decision making around inspection criteria, nonconforming material, etc
- Monitors and reports supplier performance status
- Review engineering designs and manufacturing work instructions and provide technical feedback
- Generate, review, and manage First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) per AS9102 requirements
- Establish collaborative working relationships with external entities such as, Suppliers and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) representatives
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Quality Technicians and junior Quality Engineers
- Support inspection activities when needed
- Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications; particularly for cables and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs)
- Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) for IPC/WHMA-A-620 & IPC-A-610 standards
- Problem solving and analytical skills: ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and present persuasive solutions
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; works effectively and cooperatively with others and establishes and maintains good working relationships
- Technical aptitude for learning new computer applications and for working in a highly technical environment
- Communicate effectively in person and via written forms, particularly when discussing technical details.
- Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) for IPC/WHMA-A-620 & IPC-A-610 standards
- Knowledge and understanding of AS9100/ISO 9001
- Knowledge in Quality tools (APQP, FMEA, SPC, GR&R), AS9100D, ISO9001, Military Standards
- Experience with process development, implementation, and documentation
- Experience with Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) techniques
- Technical bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years related work experience, or a Master’s degree, or comparable mix of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in mathematics, sciences or technologies.
- 2 or more years of experience in a Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, or a similar supply chain focused technical role.
- Education or experience in electrical engineering, design, build, test, etc.
- Preferred onsite at Insitu’s Eagle Point facility in Bingen, WA an average of 2 days per week. However, for the right candidate other options can be considered, up to the minimum requirement of 1 day per quarter.
- Must be able and willing to travel domestically within the US to engage with and/or audit suppliers (~10%)
