Our associates make the world more productive by improving the efficiency and reliability of the machinery that keeps industry in motion.Smith Services, a part of Timken Power Systems, is seeking a Utility Associate for the Princeton service center.The role of the Utility Associate position is to perform general labor, mechanical, painting, and maintenance tasks supporting other skilled-labor positions.Essential Functions include a variety of general-labor tasks for a motor repair shop. Duties will include:
  • General shop labor, including facilities maintenance and cleaning.
  • Loading and unloading of commercial vehicles.
  • Making local supply runs or deliveries (using passenger vehicles or other non-commercial trucks).
  • Dismantling motors and equipment; sandblasting parts, cryo-cleaning parts and equipment; prepping parts and equipment for assembly; painting motors or parts.
  • Other duties as directed.
Basic Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years' work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Technical or mechanical background.
  • Proven record of reliable attendance, strong work ethic and team skills.
  • Demonstrated strong math and mechanical skills.
  • Must have high school or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Requires heavy lifting and material handling
  • Basic computer skills preferred
  • Valid Driver's License
Position is primarily Monday through Thursday, day shift.
