- Electrical Engineer will serve as discipline design lead on projects that include an emphasis on receipt, storage, transfer, and issue of finished fuel products such as aviation jet fuel, diesel fuel, ethanol, and motor gasoline.
- Projects include tanker truck fuel receipt, marine vessel fuel receipt, aboveground and underground transfer pipelines, aboveground and underground horizontal and vertical fuel storage tanks, and aircraft and tanker truck fuel issue systems. Projects will also include ground vehicle refueling systems such as fleet and retail service stations.
- Electrical Engineer will work and coordinate with multidiscipline engineering teams including civil, structural, and mechanical engineers.
- Position will include responsibility for development of discipline specific design execution plans for assigned projects. Position will be responsible for completing projects on schedule and within the established budgets and for ensuring that all discipline specific contract requirements have been met. Electrical Engineer will ensure that designs following established project quality procedures and that required quality control reviews and checks are completed and documented.
- Electrical Engineer will assist in training and supervision of work of junior and entry-level electrical engineers conducting fueling design work.
- Conducts engineering design under limited supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Prepare detailed calculations, drawings, technical specifications, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, cost estimates, detailed analyses and other materials suitable for construction purposes under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Collect and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Applies advanced understanding of concepts, industry knowledge and technical capabilities.
- Use of computer software as a tool for solving complex engineering problems.
- Provide structured guidance and training to develop junior engineers and enhance team capabilities.
- Works independently with latitude to determine work priorities and requires minimal guidance on overall project objectives.
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
- Works and coordinates with multidiscipline engineering teams.
- Conveys complex or sensitive information, topics and concepts with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensures that designs following established project quality procedures and required quality control reviews and checks are completed and documented.
- Able to perform surveys and evaluations of existing conditions to formulate a fully coordinated scope of work within code compliant electrical designs.
- Travel to construction sites to conduct electrical inspections.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering or a related field and 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency and/or education.
- Minimum of 6 years experience in buildings and facilities engineering with specific experience in the design of modifications to low voltage (480 V and below) electrical power systems for commercial, government and institutional facilities including office tenant space, utilities and support facilities.
- Experience with Autocad (4+ years), Revit (3+ years), Microsoft Office, Bluebeam.
- Familiar with SKM, AGi32 or similar calculations and modeling software.
- Must be a licensed Professional Engineer.
- Due to the nature of work, U.S. citizenship is required.
- Must have a valid U.S. driver's license and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.
- Ability to pass background checks and gain access to military installations.
- Ability to travel one week at a time, dependent on project, within the US and internationally.
- Experience with commercial and/or Department of Defense (DoD) fuel system design projects. Other experience related to process design, wastewater treatment, and/or heavy industry design projects will be considered as an alternate.
- Experience with design of AFCEC, NAVFAC, and USACE fuel system projects.
- Experience in design of systems that use PLC controls.
- Experience with large and small motor controls and systems.
