
Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach (Part-Time, Temporary)

- Instruct student-athletes on physical health, team concepts, safety, and performance skills on both an individual and team basis.
- Implement strength and conditioning programs designed to enhance and maximize performance of individual student-athletes and teams.
- Work with sport coaches and sports medicine staff to identify individual and team training needs specific to the team/season. Coordinate with athletic training staff to ensure proper injury rehabilitation activities/exercises and protocol are performed.
- Implement testing procedures designed to identify areas of improvement and to record progress of training programs
- Monitor fitness center(s) to ensure safety of all users.
- Teach, advise, and mentor student-athletes on life-skills.
- Support academic progress of student-athletes/teams to exceed athletic department standards; intervenes with appropriate corrective action as needed.
- Maintain acceptable student-athlete retention rates to the team and/or institution.
- Refer students/faculty/staff to the Center for Wellness and Counseling or certified medical providers as situations arise.
- Assist with fundraising and program organization.
- Assist with organizing and participating in team community-service event(s).
- Assist with camps and clinics.
- Perform/supervise tasks related to maintaining the athletics department, including athletic equipment, and administrative duties.
- Supervise student workers/interns, if applicable.
- All other duties as apparent or assigned by supervisor(s).
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least three (3) years of relevant professional experience.
- Strength and Conditioning certification required in conjunction with NCAA rules and regulations.
- First Aid, CPR and AED certification.
- Follow MIAC and NCAA Division III guidelines and regulation, while exhibiting behavior that represents a positive image of the athletic program and the college.
- Masters degree.
- Professional collegiate athletics experience.
- Facility supervision experience.
- Blood Borne Pathogen Training certification.
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification.
- Integrity and leadership skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
