South Carolina ETV (SCETV) is the state's public educational broadcasting network. SCETV amplifies South Carolina voices, provides educational experiences, and strengthens communities while working to create a stronger, more connected, and informed South Carolina. SCETV provides national and local content to classrooms via internet services Knowitall.org and PBS Learning Media. SCETV also provides teacher training and re-certification in face-to-face and online settings.JOB PURPOSE:
Under general or limited supervision, this position is responsible for the administration and evolution of SCETV's Enterprise Systems infrastructure hardware, software, and mission critical applications. This position services the agency's Enterprise system requirements for broadcasting, as well as enterprise IT support systems. This position will support and maintain SCETV's IT business continuity solutions including but not limited to backup, redundancy, failover, and recovery capability. Additionally, this position will deliver advanced IT support and troubleshooting to end users, as required, to satisfy the SCETV mission.JOB DUTIES:
Serve as a primary system administrator for the Agency's virtual environment (VMWare) and manages Windows and Linux fileservers. Implements system architecture changes to Windows/Linux servers' and associated applications' configurations to optimize infrastructure resources and enhance security posture. Performs monitoring, maintenance, and related services as outlined in division policy and procedures. Administers the agency Active Directory and Group Policy Objects in accordance with agency policy.Writes, tests, and maintains technical documentation and drawings as directed, and makes recommendations for documentation methods and procedures. Maintains an asset inventory of server hardware equipment, tracks updates service contacts and warranties. Provide advice and direction on acquisition of server hardware and software; conducts feasibility studies; collects and compiles usage data; presents written recommendations to management.Administers enterprise network storage and backup & recovery solution for the virtual environment including, but not limited to, managing and maintaining highly available storage, clustered systems, and the agency's Integrated Data Protection Appliance. Serves as the Agency's primary administrator/coordinator of backup and disaster recovery. Assists in identifying requirements for the information technology disaster recovery plan.Interfaces with hardware vendors to maintain and schedule repair of equipment in a timely manner and /or provide hardware repair and maintenance as required.Performs other related duties as required.A high school diploma and experience in computer system development and modification in either an on-premises, cloud-based, or hybrid environment. An associate degree or bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience.A Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and 2 years of experience or an Associate degree and 2 years of experience or a high school diploma and 4 years of experience. 3+ years of experience in Windows Server administration, VMware administration, and experience administering HCI environments. Experience with System Administration and Enterprise applications, including but not limited to UNIX/Linux operating systems, Microsoft Windows environments, working knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy Objects, and Office 365 administration. 3+ years implementing and administering SAN/NAS with experience in data de-duplication and enterprise backup administration.Equal Opportunity Statement: SCETV is an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action employing agency.
