The work we do here matters.Department Overview Product QualityJob DescriptionThe primary responsibility of the Product Quality Engineer is to be a subject matter expert in all things quality, provide inputs towards NPI deliverables, lead sustaining efforts in quality throughout the life of the product and ultimately be the voice and advocate of our customers.Reporting to the Product Quality Manager, the Product Quality Engineer will work very closely with manufacturing teams from various plants globally. This role will also work closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Technical Support, Repair and Order Management teams during day to day operations.Responsibilities:Be the customer advocate on new product development projects, ensuring the voice of the customer is clearly understood and becomes an input in product design decisions.Ensure that all new Product Development Projects follow the designated tollgate process.Provide all defined Quality deliverables on time and perform as a quality gate keeper by challenging and ensuring customer and business interests are protected at stage gate reviews.Initiate detailed quality plans and define quality related goals for the project that effectively addresses the expectations of the customer and the project deliverables.Active involvement with Design Engineering teams to ensure that adequate reliability test plans are established to achieve reliability and warranty goals for the project.Ensure that lessons learned from field experience are incorporated in new product designs and drive the continual improvement of Product Quality.Key member in identifying and mitigating risks throughout new product development.Facilitate and lead all cross functional activities to effectively address stop-ship/stop-build events, utilizing an 8D methodology to drive issues to effective and timely resolution.Drive resolution of complex multi-disciplinary problems/customer complaints using JIRA tool and using an 8D methodology throughout issue investigation to drive high customer satisfaction.Champion design and manufacturing improvements based on return data analysis trends to reduce COPQ and enhance the customer experience.Develop, maintain, and report on product quality Metrics/KPIs relating to stated Goals and Objectives.Preferred Skills:Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills.Self-motivated and self-directed with a high sense of urgency.Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal),Good understanding of electrical/mechanical hardware and FirmwareGood understanding and ability to apply various Quality tools such as; APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC.Knowledge of SAP, Agile/PLM preferred.Quality certifications such as SSBB or CQE preferredBasic RequirementsRequired Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering5 plus years of Engineering and Product Quality experience required.Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required.
