- Lead the planning and execution of greenfield fiber infrastructure projects.
- Develop and issue RFPs for engineering, make-ready, construction, and inspection services; evaluate proposals and select vendors.
- Evaluate contractor qualifications and maintain a network of qualified vendors.
- Design and manage the construction schedule across multiple greenfield zones to meet target deadlines.
- Supervise field construction and oversee contractors to enforce compliance with safety, quality, and design standards.
- Provide direction and feedback to contractors on construction best practices, changes, and scope adjustments.
- Manage internal and external stakeholder communications regarding buildoutplans, issues, and schedules.
- Oversee quality assurance inspections and audits of contractor performance and completed work.
- Verify project deliverables including as-built maps, splice records, and other documentation.
- Address customer, landowner and jurisdictional concerns during construction activities.
- Complete any IT/Security training as assigned.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
- Support commercial team's line extension initiatives.
- Promote continuous improvement of construction methods and project delivery models.
- Train and mentor on construction protocols and standards.
- Regular contacts with patrons where the contacts are initiated by the employee. Involves both furnishing and obtaining information and, also, attempting to influence the decisions of those people contacted. Contacts of considerable importance and of such nature, that failure to exercise proper judgment may result in important tangible or intangible losses to the organization.
- Must be able to operate all equipment normally found in an office environment. Must have a valid driver's license without violation, which would prohibit insurability. Regular use of complex machines and equipment (desktop/laptop computer and software, road and production machines and equipment.)
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal, logical, or scientific symbolism such as formulas, scientific equations, and graphs. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
- Intense mental demand. Operations requiring sustained directed thinking to analyze, solve, or plan highly variable, administrative, professional, or technical tasks involving complex problems or mechanisms.
- Normal office conditions, some irregular hours may be required. Continuously exposed to one or two elements such as noise, intermittent standing, walking: and occasional pushing, carrying, or lifting.
