- Develop a mission statement, goals, and governance structure for the FVTC Health Simulation & Technology Center.
- Develop and maintain data collection and management system to ensure student satisfaction of the simulation experience.
- Prepare accreditation materials and ensure compliance with Simulation Center Accreditation.
- Participate in all aspects of simulation including operation and maintenance of simulators.
- Maintain simulation lab, proper usage, and full functionality of simulation equipment.
- Maintain expertise in existing and emerging simulation technologies, best practices and disseminates this base of knowledge to faculty and students.
- Support and work with faculty, college simulation trainers and programs to develop and present scenarios to students.
- Determine equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs or arrange repairs either with other College technicians or with simulation equipment manufacturers.
- Assist with schedules for simulation room/debriefing room and track simulation lab usage data. Liaison for simulation space requests by faculty, students, and outside agencies.
- Create instructional aides and signs to assist patrons in the use of equipment.
- Orient new faculty/students/staff to simulators and simulation lab policies and procedures; develop and enforce simulation lab policies and procedures.
- Assist with developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and protocols for simulation in collaboration with Dean, Associate Dean, supervisors, simulation trainer and faculty.
- Facilitate inter-disciplinary educational opportunities between program students utilizing simulation spaces.
- Maintain warranty information and renewal dates on all simulation equipment, schedule routine maintenance for simulation products.
- Attend, assist with, and participate in college, division, and department meetings and events relevant to position.
- Assist students and faculty with simulation and technology access for skill and competency development.
- Assist with simulation delivery during complex simulation scenarios or during training sessions for new faculty and or simulation operators.
- Assist with business and industry contract development, space rental, and resource attainment for contracted courses within the simulation center.
- Provide tours and/or demonstrations for health division events, partnering agencies, and business and industry inquiries.
- Works with IT and other support services to ensure division compliance and support in complimentary support services.
- Support college wide simulation and technology advancements by partnering with other divisions and departments.
- Associate Degree in Health Science, Biomedical Technology, or IT field required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
- IT applicants must have two years of healthcare related experience or experience in healthcare or educational setting.
- Health Science applicants must have two years of relevant related technology or IT experience.
- Simulation Technician Certification and/or willingness to obtain appropriate certifications.
- Work must be completed in person.
- Sitting: This role requires extended periods of sitting while performing tasks and utilizing computer systems.
- Mobility: While much of the work is desk-based, occasional mobility may be necessary for attending meetings, office tours, or events within the workplace.
- Lifting and Carrying: The role requires occasional lifting and carrying of light to moderate items.
- Climbing: Capability to climb stairs or ladders, if applicable to the job.
- Fine Motor Skills: This role may need precise hand movements or manual dexterity for activities such as writing on a whiteboard, demonstrating experiments, or using instructional technology like computers.
- Repetitive Motions: Capacity to perform repetitive motions, such as typing, without discomfort or injury.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with employees, candidates, and stakeholders, both in-person and through electronic means.
- Travel: Position may require off-site fieldwork or travel for professional development.
Pay is based on a multitude of factors, including experience, qualifications, education, relevant certifications, internal equity, and market data.
