DescriptionJob Title:Program Manager, ThroughputLocation:Lake Forest, ILBase Salary Compensation: $129,501.00 - $137,820.80 per year (reflects annualized salary based on the hourly rate noted above)Responsibilities:The NMHC Program Manager is responsible for leading efforts to improve patient throughput across the health system (25%). Leads and maintains a portfolio of throughput-related initiatives that are collaborative, cross-functional, and consistent with organizational annual goals (25%). Provides guidance, leadership, support and coaching to the core patient throughput departments and organization through: Managing/maintaining/improving departmental and staff-level performance metrics for patient access times, escort trip times, and room turnover; Monitoring performance regularly to provide reports to departmental management; Leading throughput-related projects that accurately identify key drivers of poor performance, implementing data driven improvements, and resulting in sustained improvement; and Providing support to organizational managers and directors regarding their patient throughput-related needs and concerns (20%). Conducted multiple simulations, communicating findings to stakeholders, gathering data, performing in-depth analysis, and benchmarking against industry standards to gain a comprehensive understanding of bed needs and the impact of improvements in the ED for Lake Forest Hospital and inpatient bed needs at multiple hospitals (10%). Created an intuitive hospital census visual dashboard for monitoring and analyzing hourly and daily census dynamics, enabling informed decision-making on resource allocation and capacity planning (10%). Enabled proactive planning for the upcoming week, resulting in the admission of 18 to 21 patients weekly into a flexible overflow capacity, and the acquisition of 3 permanent beds through repurposing surplus capacity (5%). Facilitated daily early discharge planning huddles with nurses, communicated care milestones with the clinical team, and held weekly meetings with department managers to proactively plan capacity and mitigate surge and patient safety risks, ensuring seamless operations through constant communication with hospital staff (5%).***This position supervises a Patient Throughput Expediter. ***The petitioner qualifies for an ACWIA wage as a non-profit entity affiliated with an institution of higher education under 20 CFR 656.40(e)(1)(ii). Through their health system, the petitioner and Northwestern University have a collaboration for the training of Northwestern University medical students***QualificationsRequirements:This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Health Care Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field, or foreign equivalent and 5 years of relevant experience in operations and management in Account Manager for Utilities & Generation Segment, Patient Throughput, Systems Engineer, Sr. Systems Engineer, Patient Throughput, or related position; or a Master's degree in Health Care Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field, or foreign equivalent and 3 years of experience in operations and management in Account Manager for Utilities & Generation Segment, Patient Throughput, Systems Engineer, Sr. Systems Engineer, Patient Throughput, or related position. In addition, the following skills are required: 3 years of experience in leading project management initiatives on multidisciplinary teams; experience in employing operations and capacity optimization strategies, leveraging analytical and simulation software such as SIMIO, R, Minitab, and Excel; experience utilizing statistical tools effectively to drive process improvements and efficiency gains; experience aligning project goals with business objectives and delivering results in a high-pressure environment; and experience in patient throughput-related process improvement, or operational excellence project in healthcare.
