ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions:
- Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures
- Support the implementation of industry best practices with a mindset of continuous improvement
- Act as an Industry Representative for MasTec Renewables, both internally and externally, including trade show, conferences, and interfaces with vendors and Engineers of Record
- Follow, develop, improve, and maintain processes and systems utilized by the company to perform engineering related tasks and functions
- Lead the Engineering team on multiple concurrent projects and interface with internal and external customers from conceptual design phase during bidding through construction execution phase and project closeout
- Lead, direct, and mentor a team of engineering mangers and design engineers, including identifying and assigning team training as needed
- Assign project resources at proposal, engineering, and construction phases of projects
- Identify, author, and manage appropriate MasTec Renewables engineering initiatives
- Engage in establishing and maintaining positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers
- Attend pre-construction and project meetings to lead discussions with multiple MasTec Renewables stake holders, including MasTec Renewables site teams, clients, consultants, suppliers and electric utilities
- Review all engineering bids for scope and compliance with contract documents and participate in subcontractor scope clarification
- Establish and manage a construction and engineering schedule to include design construction documents; permits, submittals and approvals and construction activities
- Provide value engineering evaluation of conceptual designs
- Review and audit engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with MasTec Renewables and client requirements
- Provide Engineering Team support for Safety, Quality, Preconstruction, Procurement, Warranty, and other internal teams
- Manage engineering document controls and oversee the process in which incoming and outgoing engineering documentation is produced, organized, filed, and distributed to internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinate site plan approval efforts, and reviews by internal stakeholders through Page- Turn Review meetings
- Accumulate and document in central database ‘lessons learned’ for projects
- Travel to project sites as required to foster relationships with project teams, help solve engineering related issues, and pick up/implement lessons learned
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent and direct renewable energy construction experience
- Professional Engineer certification preferred
- Seven to ten years of engineering experience/knowledge of construction techniques, estimating and construction management
- Five years of prior experience leading a Project Design Team during the Proposal, Design, Permit and Construction Phases

- Actively support MasTec Renewables Key Results and lead by example
- Strong data analysis and advanced problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical documents
- Advanced understanding of terms, nomenclature and business models used in the construction industry
- Ability to interact and collaborate professionally with all levels within the organization and with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Primavera, Viewpoint, Procore, InEight and other Construction Software
- Write reports, business correspondence and document project activities
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from project managers, construction managers, clients, customers and the general public
- Must be prepared to demonstrate/document past experience leading efforts to identify and evaluate constructability and risk issues, assisting in the preparation of the project schedule, evaluation of subcontractor bids and negotiating contracts with Design Professionals
- When visiting jobsites the work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
- This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises
