
RN Nurse Educator

- Coordinate, structure, implement and guide the delivery of the nursing service program within the facility
- Conduct daily clinical rounds
- Take and document all patient history and vital signs
- Assist with daily triage/sick call, minor medical/surgical procedures and patient assessments
- Assist with examinations and/or treatments
- Assist in evaluating the quality and effectiveness of clinical services
- Assist with orientation and training activities of clinical personnel
- Observe and review documentation, orders and patient care plans
- Assist with disaster plans and emergency preparation
- Respond to and initiate care for medical emergencies within the facility
- Creating and delivering educational materials, including lesson plans, presentations, and hands-on training, to meet specific learning needs
- Identifying knowledge gaps and skill deficits among nursing staff to tailor training programs effectively
- Organizing training sessions, managing logistics, and facilitating learning through various methods (classroom, online, on-the-job).
- Assessing the impact of training programs on staff performance and patient outcomes, using evaluation tools and metrics
- Working with other healthcare professionals, including nurse managers, educators, and clinical leaders, to develop and implement training initiatives
- Ensuring that training programs meet regulatory requirements and standards for nursing practice
- Providing guidance and support to new nurses and preceptors, fostering professional development and a positive learning environment
- Maintaining accurate records of training participation, completion, and outcome
- Holds a current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse within the State
- Possess an active CPR certification
- Significant experience as an RN, preferably in a relevant clinical area
- Excellent communication skills with proven experience training medical staff
- Experience with various software and online platforms for training delivery and documentation and ability to effectively communicate information both verbally and in writing, with strong presentation skills
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple training activities simultaneously
- Ability to build rapport with nursing staff, foster a positive learning environment, and provide constructive feedback
- Ability to identify and address training-related challenges and adapt training programs as needed
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening
