As a Distribution Planner, your primary responsibility is to provide Engineering support for service area and maintenance activities. This includes creating and managing design and non-design work orders using WMS, coordinating with stakeholders, and utilizing proprietary software for construction deliverables. Your role involves reviewing engineering requests, suggesting cost-effective solutions, and ensuring project metrics align with client reporting requirements. Depending on experience, you may also train and mentor colleagues. Additionally, as a Distribution Planner, you will be available for storm duty and play a key role in restoration coordination. Championing safety practices is integral to this position, making it an exciting opportunity for a dynamic professional with a background in Distribution Engineering and a commitment to efficient and secure operations.Responsibilities
  • Provide field Project Engineering support for Area service and maintenance activities
  • Create design and non-design work orders within WMS to provide construction support for new residential/business customers
  • Coordinate and communicate with scope-of-work stakeholders (customers, fellow employees, other FP&L personnel)
  • Review engineering requests, recommend cost-effective solutions and support Area engineering needs
  • Utilize proprietary design/engineering/project management software (Design Manager, WMS, CIS, TCMS, etc.) to create Construction deliverables for crews to work from
  • Provide project metrics and associated analysis in alignment with Client reporting requirements
  • Depending on experience, train and mentor other Service Planners and Area stakeholders
  • Be available for potential storm duty/coordinate restoration process(es)
  • Champion Safety practices, procedures, goals and metrics
This position reports into the client site in Fort Myers, FL. Job will generally be performed in an office environment, with occasional site visits for projects that warrant it.#LI-BL1Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with a focus on Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in distribution design/engineering
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders
  • Proven ability to coordinate and collaborate eith construvtion vendors, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Ability to travel up to 5-25% of the time to support field activities and project requirements
