You'll be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, analyzing manufacturing costs, and driving insights that support strategic decision-making across the business.Position location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL. Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness and recreation.RESPONSIBLIITIES:Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
  • Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions in compliance with GAAP.
  • Prepare and post journal entries with detailed supporting documentation.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support internal and external audits as needed.
Cost Accounting & Inventory Management
  • Calculate and report monthly excess and obsolete inventory reserves.
  • Lead the standard cost rollup process and summarize cost impacts.
  • Reconcile inventory balances between financial systems and physical counts.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs and compare actuals to standards; provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Partner with Sourcing and Procurement teams to report on purchase price variances and inflation trends, and support mitigation planning.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Ad Hoc Support
  • Communicate effectively across departments and levels to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Support leadership with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects.
  • Maintain ownership of key SOX controls as defined in the risk and controls matrix.
QualificationsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or related field required
  • Cost Accounting experience required
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software, specifically Excel
  • Experience working with large ERP systems, preferably Oracle
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Public Accounting experience
  • CPA certification or CPA eligible
  • Previous experience working for a manufacturing company

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $80,000 USD - $110,000 USD.
