The actions of the Service Advisor will influence the volume of service business and has a definite impact on customer service. The Service Advisor works directly with the public, technicians and parts department and assumes the responsibility that repairs are completed correctly and in a timely manner. Customer follow-up, repair order close out and cashiering are also frequent tasks.
Maintain a standard for hours per customer repairs order written
Follow OSHA rules and regulations regarding safety
Greet customers in a friendly and timely manner
Schedule service appointments in person and by telephone in a friendly and timely manner
Obtain customer and vehicle information
Gather all details of customers' repair needs
Advise customer of additional repairs and completion time for those repairs
Indicate repair needs on Repair Order and relay to technician
Obtain customers signature on Repair Order and give approximate completion time
Handle telephone inquiries and challenges
Act immediately on all calls
Document return repairs and submit to manager weekly
Obtain verbal approval on all unsigned work orders
Communicate with technicians on required factory assistance
