- Oversee technical infrastructure for all live and broadcast productions
- Provide technical expertise and the application of best practices in the field of Broadcast and AV engineering, supporting all related disciplines such as integrated systems designs, troubleshooting, monitoring, calibration, maintenance support, documentation and infrastructure architecture reviews & updates
- Perform configuration, set-up, testing, operation and break down of sophisticated audio and video equipment
- Maintain technical drawings, signal flow diagrams and integrated systems designs in standard software packages such as CAD, Visio, etc.
- Oversee installation, break-fix and move-add-changes of broadcast systems and infrastructure to maintain systems for robustness and dependability of live-to-tape and live broadcast events.
- Work collaboratively with production teams of various sizes to deliver the highest possible quality production or event
- Maintain an ongoing changes and subsequent equipment list, making recommendations as needed. Evaluate needs and manage items requested by technical staff and participate in regular engineering and integration meetings
- Organize equipment inventory and find creative solutions for the most effective use of equipment, In support of global productions, prepare equipment for shipping & delivery
- Communicate with Sr. Managers, engineers, producers, internal & external clients, internal & external service providers to ensure successful delivery of all complex events
- Maintain and enforce SOPs for proper usage, maintenance, and safety of all technical aspects of the studio
- Review and monitor equipment and integrated systems throughout its lifecycle; provide support and guidance for those operating the equipment on a daily basis
- Support training of all technical staff in network engineering, systems troubleshooting, new equipment features and other related AV and IT matters
- Candidate must be a proactive methodical analytical person and a team player
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of systems, tools and procedures related to modern event and video production, and streaming video equipment and processes.
- In-depth knowledge of legacy and state-of-the Broadcast, AV, IT, and production systems used in leading studios, remote, and hybrid production workflows.
- Mastery with all types of AV equipment and control systems, including but not limited to Blackmagic Cameras, Production Switchers, Encoders, Standards Converters, Dante, Yamaha, Midas, & D-Live Audio mixers, and more
- Proficient understanding of LAN/WAN hardware and software for switches, hubs, routers, point-to-point data circuits via copper and fiber for audio, video, control, & internet
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to serve as technical lead for production teams.
- Sensitivity and tact in dealing with staff/partners/clients of different levels to define the problem and develop solutions through inclusiveness and cohesion.
- An overall understanding of the live program production process is necessary and a strong sense of urgency in solving problems to ensure timely resolution is critical
- Candidate must have strong verbal communications skills, be highly organized and capable of handling multiple assignments
- Solid comprehension of video file formats and codecs, video file transcoding, and streaming protocols
- Experience working with cloud-based media management solutions, e.g., AWS S3, Microsoft Azure, GCP, Adobe Team Projects/Productions, etc.
- Outstanding customer service ability including professional presence and superior client relationship skills
- Able to adapt and perform well in a deadline-driven, executive-level environment
- Ability to liaise with manufacturers and integrators to install, test and recalibrate new and newly repaired gear
- Familiar with video creation tools, specifically Adobe Premiere, and BlackMagic DaVinci Edit systems
- Willingness to learn and keep current with client's proprietary equipment and applications
- Must work well in teams and be comfortable both giving direction and receiving it from others.
- The duties of this position require the ability to bend, kneel, crawl, climb ladders and to stand for extended periods of time
- Candidates may be required to lift heavy equipment up to 70 pounds
- Candidates should be able to work at heights and be certified, or willing to be certified in rigging and overall studio safety.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electronic Engineering or related field preferred
- 5 years' experience with digital video production workflow and tools
- 8+ years' work experience in broadcast television production, corporate communications, live events, and/or streaming video
- InfoComm (CTS, CTS-D and/or CTS-I), or other related certifications are an added bonus.
- Hands-on experience supporting corporate productions, live studio events, broadcasts, and content storytelling.
