- Manage inbound or outbound logistics operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities, safety performance, or logistics quality management.
- Manage and maintain transportation reporting and schedules. Prepare bill of ladings, requisitions and other necessary documentation as needed.
- Coordinate truck, rail, air and/or ocean import/export clearances.
- Liaise with Terex Corporate compliance relative to all Government and client internal import/export groups/departments or agencies for all formalities and statutory documentation.
- Represent site level interest while collaborating with corporate level logistics management and other site level peers to plan, develop, and implement Terex-wide logistics initiatives, and negotiate Terex wide logistics contracts or agreements.
- Monitor, review, approve, or reject/escalate for revision freight and duty invoices.
- Manage freight claim procedures and corrective actions.
- Champion Terex safety initiatives.
- Develop Sourcing Recommendations with supporting rationale and documentation
- Set clear and concise expectations with suppliers to support business requirements
- Act as point person for supplier relationship management and issue resolution; expedite material as required to support the production plan
- Identify and implement cost savings through spend analysis, supplier negotiations, business resourcing, and other purchasing methods
- Support manufacturing operations and quality department with supplier issue resolution
- Administrate Purchase Orders and Vendor Master information in the ERP system
- Comply with purchasing policies/procedures, as well as legal/ethical obligations
- Navigate legal issues involving Terms and Conditions, and identify issues that require professional legal assistance
- Resolve invoice discrepancies in procure to pay system to ensure supplier accounts stay current
- Recommends changes and consolidations that contribute to manufacturing’s requirements and support just-in-time philosophy
- Maintains up-to-date understanding of principles and methods of Lean including single piece flow, and just-in-time
- Researches and evaluates material usage then establishes ordering criteria to assure adequate but not excessive inventory on hand.
- Applies historical usage trends plus backlog information to forecast procurement needs
- Ability to oversee and manage procurement projects including new supplier development, capacity analysis, qualification of new components, and simultaneous burndown of existing components.
- Associates Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business, Materials or technical educational background.
- 1-3 years experience purchasing commodities and services to support production and aftermarket requirements
- 5 years experience working in logistics, warehouse and/or transportation operations.
- Working knowledge or Incoterms, customs regulations, import/export polices and procedures.
- Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
- Extensive critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, Powerpoint. Experience with Quickbooks and/or Fishbowl or other ERP system is a plus.
- Ability to effectively prioritize multiple priorities.
