- Prioritize and coordinate multiple projects of varying scope and complexity.
- Coordinate scope, schedule, and budget with WSDOT Project Office and project needs with other support groups such as HQ Geotech and HQ Hydraulics.
- Develop scope and schedule to be included in consultant agreement and determine level of effort needed to complete the agreement scope of work.
- Estimate consultant fee for agreement scope of work, review and score consultant qualifications.
- Negotiate consultant fee and project schedule with consultants.
- Provide technical oversight/review of consultant's work; complete consultant performance evaluations and monitor consultant's progress and review/approve invoices.
- Coordinate project delivery with Bridge Office S&E Group and WSDOT Project Office.
- Design bridges and other transportation structures of moderate complexity.
- Provide construction support on projects with bridges and other transportation structures.

- Structural Engineering Expertise: Demonstrated ability to perform and verify detailed structural analysis, design calculations, and preparation of construction plans for bridges and transportation-related structures.
- Professional Engineering Expertise: Demonstrated ability to apply sound engineering principles and judgment to complex design challenges, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements.
- Quality Assurance and Technical Review: Proficient in reviewing and validating technical work produced by others to ensure accuracy, constructability, and adherence to design standards and project requirements.
- Regulatory and Policy Knowledge: Thorough understanding of Washington State and federal regulations, codes, and standards related to structural design, inspection, preservation, and safety.
- Communication: Demonstrate the ability to effectively comminate technical concepts and requirements through email, virtual meetings and phone calls.
- A bachelor of science degree in civil or structural engineering.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the state of Washington or licensed as a PE in another state with the ability to obtain licensure in Washington State within six (6) months of hire.
- Certification as a Project Management Professional.
- Experience with using structural analysis software including PGSuper and CSIBridge.
- Experience preparing and administering Consultant agreements for WSDOT.
- Experience in construction and/or inspection of transportation structures.
- Experience in developing agreement scopes, schedules, and fee estimates.
- Experience with the WSDOT Bridge Design Manual, Standard Specifications and Special Provisions.
- Experience with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and AASHTO Guide Specifications for LRFD Seismic Bridge Design.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and Teams.
- These positions offer limited flexible/hybrid remote work options, with required in-office time of at least two (2) days a week.
- These positions require a Professional Engineers License issued by the State of Washington. License holders from other states will be expected to obtain a WA State PE license within six (6) months of hire.
