- Performs management and consulting services as assigned ensuring project continues on schedule and within budgetary and quality requirements.
- Ensures documentation relative to outstanding issues, change orders and requests for information are appropriately maintained and tracked.
- Tracks and controls construction schedule and associated costs to achieve completion of project within time and monies allocated avoiding unnecessary delays and cost overruns.
- Works with client to ensure effective regulatory agency relations and planning to expedite project design approval and permitting processes.
- Ensures effective communications and a collaborative work environment. When leading projects, the position will provide management and oversight. When a team member, will help develop tools and reports.
- Supervises, develops, and maintains program budgets, schedules and status reports.
- Provides oversight and management of external vendors.
- Oversees performance of all trade contractors and reviews plans to ensure standards of building performance, quality, cost schedules and safety are maintained.
- Reviews project delivery team member’s invoices and applications for payment for compliance with all contracts.
- Bachelor of Architecture, Engineering or Building Construction.
- Six to nine years of experience in healthcare design, construction and/or facilities industry and three to five years of experience of direct project management experience with construction projects of increasing complexity.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills in the delivery of health care facilities including medical office buildings, acute care general hospitals, outpatient surgery centers and psychiatric hospitals from programming through facility activation.
- Must have been in responsible charge of the delivery of major projects exceeding $50 million construction cost and of significant complexity in at least two (2) of the above four (4) categories.
- Knowledge of health care design and construction, building codes and regulations, space programming and allocation, cost analysis and contract negotiation.
- Knowledge of project coordination/management, budgeting and scheduling concepts and procedures is required, as well as the process of project planning, design and construction.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, solid interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities and work group facilitation skills.
- Leadership skills and the ability to initiate and maintain clear communications are preferred.
- Demonstration of leadership ability, including the management and delegation of appropriate tasks to technical and non-technical support staff.
- Demonstrated ability to gather needs and translate requests into potential solutions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project software is preferred.
