Strategic Risk Solutions (SRS - www.strategicrisks.com) is the largest independent Captive Manager in the world. SRS launched SRS Benefit Partners to support the growth and development of group Employee Benefit captives. Our focus is to provide a meaningful, accessible alternative to the current market options to our defined agency partners.
Key to our growth strategy and success is to add several business development executives to SRS Benefit Partners who will be responsible for developing and maintaining sales and consulting relationships with select broker, TPA and other producer relationships. The primary role is introducing and educating producers on group employee benefit captive solutions and presenting program options to employer groups in collaboration with producer partners. This position may be geographically or nationally based depending upon prior experience and relationships. We are open to individuals with group health, stop loss and self-funding experience willing to learn the expanding health insurance captive market.
This role will report to Managing Director, SRS Benefit Partners.
This role can be remote, anywhere in the U.S.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Manage relationships with brokers/agents, business leaders and decision makers to drive medical captive sales.
  • Educate producer contacts on the use of group captives for health insurance.
  • Generate leads for private group captive programs as well drive sales to open market programs.
  • Review new business submissions and related underwriting data to develop quotes with carrier and vendor partners.
  • Monitor trends in the use of group captives for health insurance and the larger self-funded market. Incorporate changes into sales strategy.
  • Maintain knowledge of claims administration and cost containment initiatives and key differentiators for captive programs.
  • Work directly with producers and employers to answer questions and/or resolve issues regarding underwriting and captive participation.
  • Deliver effectively in a variety of presentation settings; formal, one-on-one, small and large groups, with peers, and leaders; both inside and outside the organization.
  • Effectively communicate benefits captive participation and the value proposition of SRS and its captive programs. Effectively address any objections or concerns and construct mutually beneficial solutions.
Attributes and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of group health, medical stop loss, level-funding and/or self-funding benefits sales experience.
  • Proven track record in self-funded medical sales.
  • Strong relationship management skills and the ability to develop and execute a sales strategy with the Managing Director.
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate with all areas related to the captive and sales functions, including underwriting, program management, captive management as well as producers and employers.
  • Must be comfortable working with numbers, reporting, and analysis.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with self-direction and motivation.
  • Desire to learn and grow in a dynamic team and provide feedback.
