- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting processes for the Technology functions to ensure accuracy and predictability.
- Implement robust budget tracking mechanisms, continuously monitoring actuals against forecasts and making recommendations for adjustments as needed.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues and discover areas of opportunity to improve speed and quality of financial results.
- Partner with Compensation team to manage forecast models for compensation expenses for the 1,000+ Technology employees.
- Prepare and present financial performance of the Technology function to EVP, Corporate Finance and to the Paramount CFO
- Partner with technology executives to shape and implement financial strategies that support the organization's growth and innovation objectives.
- Lead financial due diligence for potential technology investments, conducting detailed return on investment analysis and risk assessments.
- Provide thought partnership to the CTO and the Technology leadership team. Offer input into the Technology strategic plan and provide financial analysis and insight on the execution of the plan.
- Prepare presentations and handle special projects and analyses.
- Develop and deliver clear and concise presentations on financial matters to non-financial partners.
- Cultivate a collaborative culture within the team and across departments, fostering open communication and knowledge-sharing.
- Inspire members of the team with a compelling narrative that motivates them to contribute to the department's success.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration between finance and technology teams to enhance overall organizational effectiveness.
- Provide guidance on career development, setting clear expectations, and conducting regular performance evaluations.
- Optimize team skills and locations to leverage centers of excellence and low-cost locations.
- 15+ years in Finance or Accounting, preferably within the Media industry and/or with the Technology function.
- Bachelor's degree required, CPA, MBA or similar advanced degree/designation preferred
- Progressive experience, ideally with leadership experience in Finance, and some experience in a global, matrixed organization a plus.
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into financial implications.
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, compliance standards, and accounting principles.
- Proven analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a track record of implementing successful financial strategies.
- Results focused with ability to balance multiple assignments at a time in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment to achieve desired results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey financial insights to diverse audiences.
