Keep reading…A day in the life…Wondering what a day in the life of an RN, LPN, or CMA in General Surgery at The Iowa Clinic might look like?
  • Arrive at work in the morning – no night shifts here!
  • Provides professional nursing services for patients of assigned physician, Dr. Mohan, at our West Des Moines General Surgery Clinic, following established nursing practice standards and medical office hospital procedures.
  • Enjoy work-life balance with a Monday through Friday schedule with standard clinic hours!
  • Patient-Facing Clinic Days are scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays.
  • Non-Clinic Days; completing Prior Auth’s, Scheduling Surgeries, scheduling appointments, on the phones.
  • Conducts comprehensive assessments of patients' care needs
  • Assists provider(s) with patient triage, identifies nursing diagnoses or problem lists, and formulates an initial plan of care based on assessment data
  • Spend enough time with your patients to listen to them and get to know them
  • Participate in a department potluck or team-building activity over lunch
  • Visit The Iowa Clinic intranet to see what volunteer opportunities are available to you this month and read what is happening around the clinic
  • Return patient calls and ensure all patients feel valued and cared for
  • Leave in the evening – hooray for working standard clinic hours!
Provide additional coverage (rotating as needed) at our Waukee and Downtown Des Moines General Surgery locations.This job might be for you if you have…Qualifications

  • The ability to prepare and maintain records

  • Ability to assist physicians in a professional manner
Required Licenses
  • Must be licensed as an RN or LPN by the State of Iowa or Certified as a Medical Assistant (AAMA).
