- Perform, inspect, and/or manage FOQA daily flight event analysis, PCMCIA data card processing, routine data and root cause analysis, recorded flight data to detect deviations, events and adverse events in flight operations, as well as process reports and presentations related to the aforementioned duties.
- Create flight animations of actual events and incidents to support investigation and evaluation of SOP deviations and operational risks.
- Prepare reports, presentations, statistical data and apply knowledge of aviation, Air Traffic Management (ATM), FOQA, ASAP, & ASIAS to research, design, plan, and perform safety data analysis for the identification of aviation safety hazards and
- Work with Gatekeepers and other members of the Event Review Team including union, company, and FAA representatives.
- Generate flight crew contacts for Gatekeeper
- Subject matter expert to FOQA vendors and
- Coordinate data sharing & interfaces between FOQA, ASAP, & flight crew training
- Act as the lead for FOQA monthly trend review and FOQA Monitoring Team
- Work with FOQA software vendor and Maintenance & Engineering to resolve flight data parameter defects and anomalies.
- Support development of safety promotion and communications
- Attends industry FOQA & Safety related events to acquire/share the latest improvements in Flight Safety & data analytics.
- Maintain parameter definition event sets and coordinate changes with the FMT in addition to maintaining a log of any changes that are made.
- Other FOQA and Safety related duties as
- Bachelors in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Aerospace or
- 5 years aviation experience with a 14CFR Part 121 carrier or relevant operational experience, such as 14CFR Part 135 or military.
- Working knowledge in Aviation Safety Programs including SMS, AQP, ASAP, FOQA, ASIAS, and LOSA.
- Strong work ethic, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a positive attitude toward teamwork.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
- Professional written and verbal communication
- Capable of developing and providing a wide range of reports for executive
- Ability to work with sensitive or confidential information without inappropriate
- Must be able to handle multiple projects with changing
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport SIDA
- Familiarity with modern FOQA platforms (i.e. – ERGOSS SARA, SAGEM, CAE Flightscape, GE EMS / Austin Digital) and 3D aircraft animation software (i.e. – AIRINC FAS, CEFA-FAS).
- Experience with flight data recording devices (i.e. – QARs, DARs, FDRs, FDIMUs or DFDAU’s), dataframe layouts, data conversion algorithms, and previous completion of flight data analytics courses.
- Avionics/Systems experience on the Airbus A321/A330 & Boeing 717/787
- Programming skills in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Neural Networking, Multi-Variable analysis, or Statistical methods.
- Part 121/135 Flight Operations crewmember experience, ATP, CFI, CFII, PPL and/or 250 hours of flight sim time.
