- Experience implementing and upholding environmental standards and compliance.
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior geologists. Ensure development plans are established and maintained for all direct reports.
- Build and maintain collaborative internal relationships with key departments (Engineering, Operations, Process, Environment, Growth, Exploration, Safety and Finance).
- Build on technical knowledge for geological mapping, drilling, and logging programs. Ensure best practices are utilized, understood, and followed by the team.
- Support site reconciliation through identifying and explaining variances and providing solutions to mitigate/reduce variance where possible.
- Engage with resource team to ensure accurate, fit for purpose mineral estimations are provided, ensuring that all available data are leveraged to maximize value in every model.
- Supervise and authorize the design, preparation and implementation of proposals, cost estimates and expenditure requests for production drill programs.
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Working knowledge of Deswik, Leapfrog, Maptek Vulcan and acQuire.
- Effective communication across departments, leadership, and multiple stakeholders
- Strong English language written and oral communication skills. Bilingual is a plus.
- Ability to understand the mine plan and scheduling of stopes to meet monthly and quarterly production targets while optimizing the economic extraction of reserves.
- Understand grade control and sampling practices.
- Ability to interpret Geology and communicate drill results.
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant underground production experience in hard rock mining
