The CNC Machinist will also be responsible for supporting production through the tooling process. As necessary, the CNC Machinist may engage in CNC programming practices to create and cut new tools for production.Essential Duties· Read blueprints, sketches, or computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) files for making tools and dies· Compute and verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of workpieces· Set up, operate, and disassemble conventional, manual, and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools · Test completed tools and dies to ensure they meet specifications· Monitor the feed and speed of the machines· Operate CNC Lathes, Mills, and VMCs· Measure, examine, and test completed tools and dies for defects· Smooth and polish the surfaces of tools and dies· Clean through various processes; Ice blast, sand blast, and lathe· Pull, stage, deliver tools to molding, and put away tools· Present finished workpieces to production and make modifications if needed · Operate manual horizontal lathe machine for the purpose of polishing tools · Perform daily 5S duties · Other duties as assignedWorking Environment- Protective gear required.-Moving machinery-minimal noise.Physical Requirements · Lifting up to 50 lbs. · Bending · Reaching · Hand/finger manipulation · Crawling · ClimbingQualificationsMinimum Qualifications· At least 2 years’ prior experience machining precision products and tools on a CNC machine (set-up AND operation)· Good verbal and written communication skills· Reliable and predictable attendancePreferred Qualifications· CNC Programming experienceAre you ready to join a different kind of company where our people, our culture, and our commitments are centered around providing trusted solutions that improve lives around the world?IDEX is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
