Olympic College is recruiting an adjunct faculty to join the faculty and staff team in the Social Sciences & Humanities Division. The position will be part-time French Language faculty, teaching primarily French I, French II and French III. This position requires instruction with a day-time availability between the hours of 8:00 AM and 3:15 PM and evenings as required from 5:00 PM to 7:15 PM.A comprehensive community college, we offer instruction in Basic Studies to include awarding a high school diploma, GED preparation, and English to Speakers of Other Languages; academic transfer and workforce education degrees and certificates; four applied baccalaureate degrees, and community education in our two-county region.Essential Functions
- Provide quality teaching, including related preparation, grading, and record keeping;
- Provide class syllabi to students enrolled in classes by the first day of classes and to the division office as requested;
- Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments in learning environments and activities to meet those needs;
- Punctually communicate with students, faculty, staff and administrators;
- Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.
- Master's degree in French Language or a directly related area from an accredited college or university
- Teaching experience
- Must be available to teach during the day
- PhD in French
- College teaching experience
- Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted.
