Large, local medical services provider is seeking an HR Specialist to join its team!This is a permanent opportunity, with full benefits! Great opportunity for upcoming or recent graduates in Human Resources.Hours: M-F, 8am-5pm
Location: Onsite in Schenectady area

The HR Specialist will be responsible for recruitment support, onboarding of new hires, assisting with orientation, and ongoing employee support.A typical day might include:
  • Supporting recruitment activities for all company worksites, including maintaining accurate and up-to-date job postings, and scheduling company recruitment meetings.
  • Managing onboarding within the Human Resource Information System (HRIS), such as ensuring forms, packets and information requested are completed, and that all onboarding requirements are satisfied, including reference checks, background and employment screening, and salary recommendations.
  • Issuing verbal and written offer letters, including tracking returned documents and file management.
  • Scheduling orientation, including manager notification, new hire confirmation, policy and regulatory sign offs. Conducting orientation as needed.
  • Compiling employee files and submittal for review.
  • Generating monthly report of credentials, licensing and healthcare screenings, and union requirements; contacting employees and managers requesting updated information for compliance.
  • Receiving and verifying all invoices for pre-employment physicals and testing.
  • Assisting managers and employees with questions and concerns regarding open positions, job posting, and Human Resource related matters.
  • Remaining accessible to employees for employment related questions or concerns, communicating to others as required.
  • Participating or leading employee engagement activities in order to improve employee retention.
  • Recommending suggestions for change or improvement of the human resource function.
  • Receiving and recording employee absences and communicating call outs to managers.
To be considered for this role, you should have:
  • Associates Degree with minimum of 2-3 years' human resource experience; or Bachelor's Degree with one year's work experience in a fast-paced human resource department.
  • High level of customer, interpersonal and communication skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
