- Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage all financial and accounting activities, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger operations.
- Oversee and ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow modeling processes to support strategic decision-making and ensure financial health.
- Oversee and analyze cost accounting and inventory management within the manufacturing environment, ensuring accurate product costing and inventory valuation.
- Collaborate closely with operations, production, and retail teams to provide financial insights and support operational efficiency and cost control initiatives.
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to financial reporting, tax laws, and the unique requirements of the hemp/CBD industry.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, system enhancements, and automation within the finance department.
- Assist in special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's preferred).
- CPA license is preferred but not required
- 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably within a manufacturing or highly regulated environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing audits, developing internal controls, and preparing consolidated financial statements.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and experience with accounting systems like QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAGE, or SAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Experience in the cannabis or hemp industry is a plus, but not required.
- High level of integrity, personal motivation, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in-office 100% of the time.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check, credit check and meet any other regulatory requirements.
