- Lead the evolution of AFM system control and data acquisition electronics.
- Define overall electronics requirements, architecture, interfaces, and theory of operation.
- Convert high-level system requirements into subsystem specifications.
- Evaluate alternative design approaches by performing analysis, modeling, and trade studies.
- Perform electronics design, analysis, prototyping, and system integration.
- Select electronic components based on function, availability, reliability, and cost.
- Work with functional teams to achieve reliable, manufacturable, serviceable, and testable designs.
- Develop test plans and methodologies to objectively verify performance against requirements.
- Design test fixtures to ensure compliance to product and manufacturing specifications.
- Create product documentation, including BOM’s, fabrication files, and assembly drawings.
- Conduct product and regulatory compliance testing.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and failure analysis for new and existing product lines.
- Document project decisions and provide appropriate cross-functional team communication.
- Experience with some or all:
- Design, integration, and verification of analog and digital design.
- System controls (e.g., motion, feedback), data acquisition, and analysis.
- Power supplies (switching and linear) and high voltage designs.
- Troubleshooting and debugging electronic circuits to the component level.
- Printed circuit board design, analysis, assembly, and test.
- FPGAs/microprocessor programming.
- Standard electrical testing and measuring equipment.
- OrCAD/Cadence Allegro, Altera/Quartus, and PSpice or similar
- Electrical regulatory standards such as IPC, ISO, and CE (EMC & Safety).

- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field.
- At least 7 years of related work experience.
