- Plan, organize and implement systems and procedures that will enhance manufacturing production.
- Conduct cause and effect studies and implement corrective measures.
- Assess production processes to improve product consistency, standardize work procedures, flow, etc.
- Implement Lean concepts throughout the plant including 5S, Visual Work, Kanban, etc.
- Create and manage training programs for production employees.
- Ensure all aspects of new product introduction and changes to existing products are properly communicated to stakeholders.
- Interface with various departments in coordinating technical information relating to specific projects.
- Manage capital equipment projects, including identifying equipment improvements and delivering on time and in budget.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- BS degree in Engineering, preferably Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical
- This position will require the ability to move around the production floor to investigate issues with the production equipment or manufactured and purchased parts
- Lift up to 25 pounds
- Sitting, standing, stooping, bending, other related tasks in an office setting
- 6+ years of experience in a Manufacturing, Mechanical or industrial engineering role.
- Experience must include working with welding and fabrication processes.
- Must possess a working knowledge of computers, including MS Word, Excel, etc.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, ProE, with preferred experience in SolidWorks.
- ISO 14001, TS-16949 or IATF-15949 knowledge required.
- Experience with of the following a plus: quality standards, capital equipment, procurement, FMEA, APQP.
- Understanding of factory metrics and Lean (Operational Excellence) at a minimum with Six Sigma experience, a plus
- Understanding of MIG/TIG/SAW/Laser/Plasma welding practices
