- Bolt the frame of the chassis together while monitoring the torque of the bolts
- Install a variety of different equipment on the frame, such as fuel tanks, air tanks, axels, and cab latches, as called for in the specifications
- Ensure that the frame is square and meets the dimensions according to the prints and specifications
- Install brake lines, wire harnesses, plumbing, airlines, and other equipment onto the chassis
- Assemble the engine to the fire apparatus by putting together engine components to make a working build
- Install wire harnesses and electrical equipment, performing cable management throughout the process
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions and do so with a positive attitude
- Ability to read and work from blueprints/spec books
- Ability to identify quality issues, recognize changes within one’s production process, and make the needed adjustments
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately and precisely, and have a basic understanding of how to use basic hand tools, shear, and brake press
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well in a team environment
- Must adhere to all safety policies
- Must adhere to the attendance and punctuality standards
