- Lead the annual planning process each year for several key operations divisions (flooring, PM, warehouse, move, administrative, and Greensboro), with oversight from the President and leadership team to develop the annual goals.
- Manage the daily operations of the core operations divisions while maintaining a strong leadership team of direct reports through development, coaching, and accountability.
- Know and understand the industry and the operation of the company.
- Develop and implement strategies and policies to continue to exceed our Best of Class objectives; through efforts such as implementation of policies and procedures relative to labor management, improve operational processes and procedures, manage overtime, contract labor, and other key operational expenses, manage company vehicle fleet and all operations equipment.
- Own full P&L with a specific focus on profitable growth; manage bid process for contract labor, review labor quotes for reasonableness, ensure accurate monthly billing for over 30 days of storage and ensure accurate monthly billing for project management change orders.
- Maintain a customer-driven organization. Develop strong feedback methods and channels by soliciting customer feedback; use this insight to meet future consumer demands of our products by conducting post-project reviews and implementing corrective action.
- Ensure that all our Team Members have the tools they need to perform their job effectively and efficiently. Meet at least twice a year with each team to learn what is going well and what opportunities there are to improve.
- Manage all facility requirements including HVAC, fire/sprinkler systems and shop annual inspections, grounds maintenance, parking lot, office cleaning, and all other facility repairs & maintenance.
- Lead safety committee and ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Provide weekly job status to the President.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- 10 years of operations management leadership experience (preferably at an office furniture dealership, but other related industries are a plus).
- Proven profit & loss expertise, and cost control track record.
- Skilled in creating, presenting, and implementing annual business plans.
