Sr. BI Engineer/ Reporting Analyst Canada- Remote

- We are looking for a go-getter person who can understand and define (as required):
- Analytic strategies to meet the demands of business requirements
- Technical requirements of the analytic solutions
- Data requirements of the analytic solution processes
- He/ She will work with different stakeholders as SME for insight generation, data quality and testing and dashboard development/enhancement
- Engages in technical problem solving across multiple technologies; often needs to develop new solutions
- A typical workday will involve working with stakeholders in individual contributor role
- Individual will source data from multiple sources, manipulate and prepare data and run scripts to update visualization and data sets.
- He/She will automate processes using SQL and will be debugging, troubleshooting existing codes and optimizing the same
- Individual will need to develop visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards using Power BI
- Connect Power BI / Visualization tool to different data sources, import data and transform data appropriate for the business problem
- Adept in developing, publishing and scheduling Power BI reports and to visualize various trends as per the business requirements
- A suitable candidate should have 10+ years of experience in a similar role and should possess a go -getter attitude and a high degree of ownership skills. He/ She should be able to deal with ambiguity
- Experience in insurance preferred but not mandatory
- Experience in Sales & Distribution, specific to in-house and external agents preferred but not mandatory
- 10+ years of experience in analytics, PowerBI, SQL, ETL and associated data jobs.
- Excellent communication & presentation skills and should be able to communicate with client effectively
- Experience in managing SQL codes and collaborating with customer on data model evolution
- Good knowledge of Relational Data Base Management and SQL
- Superior analytical and problem solving skills. Experience in independent insight generation is preferred
- Should be able to work on a problem independently and prepare client ready deliverable with minimal or no supervision
- Strong ability to translate functional specifications / requirements to technical requirements
- Experience in PowerBI is must to have
- Proficient in creating complex queries, and automate processes across multiple tools
- Strong experience in creating dashboards in Power BI and other visualization tool
- Experience in Excel VBA is good to have
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in economics, mathematics, actuarial sciences, computer science/engineering, operations research or related analytics areas; candidates with BA/BS degrees in the same fields from the top tier academic institutions are also welcome to apply
- Strong and in-depth understanding of DE Fundamentals
- Data analysis experience (Preferred)
- Superior analytical and problem solving skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work in fast pace continuously evolving environment and ready to take up uphill challenges
