- Advanced capability to read, interpret, and edit electrical drawings, technical drawings, and schematics, and can teach other members of the team.
- Can create electrical design drawings using AutoCAD Electrical and possesses the ability to teach others.
- Able to work from project specifications, reference documents and code standards to update and/or create new electrical power and control design documents.
- Able to perform electrical calculations for current and new designs and can teach others.
- Able to perform advanced programing of PLC's and HMI's and can set up most PID loop designs.
- Knowledgeable of MS Office and similar business-related software and perform basic functions.
- Advanced ability to manage BOM's, perform required research to needed information and can manage project schedules and milestones.
- Leads a team of fellow engineers, designers, and drafters with resolving of design challenges.
- Can perform advanced electrical trouble shooting and problem solving, with the ability to teach others.
- Actively seeks to resolve current problems, proactively mitigates potential problems.
- Interfaces with engineering, manufacturing, and operations staff in a productive manner to gain needed information to properly perform electrical design work.
- Works closely with fellow engineers, designers, and drafters to improve quality and efficiency.
- Guides entry and mid-level electrical designers and CAD drafters in the performance of their work.
- Can lead electrical design reviews for new and existing product designs.
- Participates in engineering design teams to learn and gain experience of design methods and processes.
- Punctual. Maintains regular and consistent job attendance.
- Interfaces well with both internal and external customers.
- Has advanced knowledge of the National Electric Code, IEEE, ANSI, UL, and other applicable standards, and uses this knowledge to teach and grow members of the electrical team.

- Must maintain a safe and clean work area at all times.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Technology with 7+ years of electrical design experience or a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, interpret, electrical drawings and technical specifications, can understand basic electrical circuit diagrams, schematics, electrical blueprints and drawings.
- Can utilize reference tables to determine the definition of basic electrical symbols and design callouts.
- Can read, and understand production reports related to quality, and quantity.
- Must be able to write NCR's and comply with safety rules.
- Must be able to establish productive and effective communication ties and relationships with co-workers, supervisors, customers, and staff.
- Advanced mathematics applicable to essential functions.
- Must comply with and follow all IE standards, programs, policies, and procedures as they apply to this position, reports any unsafe condition immediately.
- Must operate and perform job duties in a safe manner including operation of machinery and moving equipment.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
- May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to work a 40-hour week and additional time when required.
- This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities.
