
Application Developer – DSHB Department of Biology

- Consult with users to define functional/technical specifications for limited scope solutions.
- Analyze functional and technical requirements for improvements to DSHB's public-facing website and internal content systems, including online digital forms and portals (ordering and depositing).
- Collaborate across teams to build and maintain a searchable antibody validation knowledgebase and integrate with other open-access digital tools.
- Structure and curate knowledge assets (protocols, SOPs, customer support interactions) to facilitate AI tool development.
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 years of experience.
- Prior experience with JavaScript.
- Experience in developing web applications using PHP MVC frameworks to automate and optimize industry-specific workflows.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to meet and maintain University Driving Policy standards.
- Prior experience with NetSuite or other ERP systems. Prior programming in SuiteScript also desirable.
- Previous experience in a scientific research environment and support of scientific databases and platforms.
- Previous experience in working on open science, transparency in data sharing, and accessibility in research tools.
- Experience developing AI-chatbots in an academic or research environment.
