- Design, specify, and provide maintenance guidance for electrical systems and components of low to high complexity. Act independently on projects with more complexity. Develop new templates and prototypical electrical designs.
- Develop and present technical training seminars; work with training vendors to improve training efficiencies.
- Exercise the technical responsibilities required for sealing engineering work performed under your direction.
- Take on non-production projects and designs for innovative initial concept drawings as well as designs for new initiatives.
- Review, comment on, and approve electrical designs submitted by outside carriers.
- Communicate with outside entities as required for electrical installations.
- Work with project and construction managers to ensure business needs, codes, and quality standards are met.
- Design and coordinate manufacturing, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to comply with specifications, codes, and customers' requirements.
- Perform detailed calculations and draft technical drawings and specifications to resolve electrical engineering issues, which may include visiting sites.
- Adhere to quality control procedures; provide quality control reviews of engineering services.
- Assist cross-departmentally with designs and electrical engineering support.
- Approximately 5% of the time the role will be performed outside of a conventional office environment.

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field required.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred.
- Professional Engineer (“PE”) certification required, with the ability to become licensed as a PE in multiple states via reciprocity.
- Minimum of either 4 years of electrical engineering design experience in telecommunications or 6 years of electrical engineering design experience in other industries.
- Detailed knowledge of the National Electric Code required.
- Experience performing short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies required.
- Experience designing and operating electrical distribution systems (medium voltage to low voltage for mission critical facilities required.
- Experience designing solar PV systems, battery energy storage systems, and optional standby generators required.
- Experience designing and installing electrical components on telecommunications sites preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD and a working knowledge of Revit/BIM preferred.
- Active member of either a professional organization or technical society preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
- Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
