We offer an innovative educational program that integrates health and wellness into academic learning, with a strong focus on identity development, inquiry-based instruction, and movement-based learning.About the Position
We are seeking qualified teachers to provide engaging, content-based instruction. This includes planning, coordinating, and delivering a rigorous curriculum, while using inclusive practices that support all learners. Teachers are expected to create both long-term and daily lesson plans aligned with school instructional standards, prepare curricular materials, and maintain an organized, positive, and safe classroom environment.This role involves fostering student curiosity, building strong relationships, and collaborating with peers to bring the school’s mission and philosophy to life. A growth-oriented mindset, flexibility, and a passion for teaching are essential.Key ResponsibilitiesFoster a love of learning and encourage curiosity among students.Set and support rigorous academic goals.Maintain a safe, creative, and orderly classroom environment.Plan and implement curriculum aligned with standards and the school’s scope and sequence.Differentiate instruction for diverse learners, including those with special needs.Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine instructional practices.Prepare and deliver engaging daily lessons.Use questioning strategies to deepen student thinking.Track attendance and student participation.Assign and assess classwork, projects, and homework.Maintain accurate, timely grading records.Provide one-on-one support for students as needed.Enforce consistent classroom expectations and school-wide policies.Participate actively in school-wide events, professional development, and community-building activities.Communicate regularly with families about student progress.Support school recruitment and enrollment efforts when needed.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsCommitment to the school’s mission and values.Strong collaboration and communication skills.Ability to build trust with both students and colleagues.Organizational skills and effective time management.Creativity in designing engaging learning experiences.Patience, adaptability, and problem-solving ability under pressure.Proficiency in relevant technology tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Zoom).Bachelor’s degree in education, a content area, or related field.Teaching experience, including student teaching.Ability to pass a background check.Experience working in urban or diverse communities preferred.Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) preferred.Work Schedule
