
Commercial Project Engineer Lead

- Support the project manager in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of all project phases, from pre-construction to project completion.
- Monitor project progress to ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and other key stakeholders to facilitate project workflow.
- Manage and review project documentation, including contracts, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and shop drawings.
- Maintain accurate project records to meet contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Distribute project plans, specifications, and other essential documents to relevant parties as needed.
- Analyze construction plans and specifications to identify and resolve potential issues or discrepancies.
- Aid in value engineering efforts to enhance project cost-effectiveness and efficiency while upholding quality standards.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design plans, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Assist in developing and updating project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or Procore.
- Track project costs, review subcontractor invoices, and support budget forecasting and reporting.
- Identify and address potential schedule delays to keep projects on track.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for project-related communications with clients, stakeholders, and the project team.
- Prepare progress reports, meeting minutes, and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Attend project meetings to provide updates on project status, risks, and resolutions.
- Ensure adherence to project specifications, industry standards, and local building codes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the implementation of safety programs and compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
- Conduct quality control inspections and coordinate corrective actions for any deficiencies identified.
- Address field issues such as material shortages, design conflicts, or construction errors by collaborating with the project team.
- Manage RFIs and change orders to efficiently resolve design or scope changes.
- Anticipate challenges and propose solutions to keep projects on track.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a relevant field.
- Experience: 1-5 years of experience in commercial construction or a related field (entry-level positions may require less experience).
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proficient in construction management software such as Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
