- Manage teams in the development and coordination of design documents and specifications; assist the Project Manager (PM) with all activities related to drawings and consultants on larger, more complex projects
- Provide creative and technical input to ensure the build-ability and feasibility of all design ideas
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure they meet office standards and are ready for permitting and bidding as directed by the PM
- Ensure the architect’s work is fully coordinated with all consultants and includes the most current, required information
- Participate in the design process and inform the PM of issues that may affect design intent of the project
- Conduct comprehensive review of project design and provide feedback on basic principles of life-safety, building codes, and ADA compliance.
- Communicate code issues and impacts with the Architect of Record and design team; ensure accurate incorporation of resolution within design documents
- Supervise documents required for Local Entitlement Submittals (i.e. Design Review, Conditional Use Permits, Re-Zoning Applications)
- Coordinate activities with the building department and utility companies
- Complete Code and Egress Analysis for review by the PM
- Obtain PM approval of services for each project phase before proceeding to the next phase(s)
- Conduct on-site field reviews and inspections to ensure installation meets design intent and quality standards
- Ensure all deadlines are met and in accordance with the project budget
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Job Captains and BIM Drafters/Interns
- NAAB Accredited Architectural degree preferred, but not required
- At least six years in a related role, or 10 years combined work experience and education
- Ability to complete Construction Documents on complex projects with minimal guidance and supervision from the PM
- Knowledge of building codes with the ability to implement requirements in drawings and specifications
- Ability to manage multiple projects at various stages of development
