OverviewSummary of Responsibilities: The Medical Assistant performs various clinical and administrative duties in support of the in-take, examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the Medical Manager, Medical Director, and APRN/Physician Assistant.Medical Assistant Duties and responsibilities:
Performs patient care, administrative and environmental responsibilities as assigned
Conducts CAOHC certified Audiological Testing, Phlebotomy, Pulmonary Function Testing and Drug Testing
Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records and keeping patient information confidential
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications
Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Works and communicates cross departmentally
Other duties as assigned
Work Hours:Shift schedule is 1:30PM-10PM with rare instances of coverage on weekendsQualificationsRequired:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant school, Patient Care Technician, Emergency Medical Technician training OR 2 + years’ experience in a medical setting providing patient care
Preferred:
Certified Medical Assistant
CAOHC and phlebotomy certification
Drug testing experience
Experience with EMR (electronic medical records), medical terminology
Previous experience in occupational clinic / medical setting
