It's ideal for a seasoned Superintendent with deep experience in federal, NAVFAC, or historical renovation projects.We are seeking a highly experienced Superintendent to lead a complex, high-profile historic renovation project in the heart of Washington, D.C. This $15M renovation of a nationally significant structure will require exceptional attention to detail, expertise in historical preservation, and strong command of large-scale MEP systems. The ideal candidate brings deep experience managing federal renovation projects, preferably with NAVFAC involvement, and is comfortable operating on high-security, historically sensitive job sites.The Superintendent - Washington D.C. - Historical will:
  • Serve as the on-site lead for a historic renovation project in Washington, D.C., overseeing daily operations, field personnel, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure adherence to preservation requirements, construction documents, and government/federal compliance standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and historic consultants to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Manage scheduling, logistics, inspections, safety compliance, and reporting.
  • Navigate complex MEP installations and phased renovations in a high-security environment.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with stakeholders while protecting the integrity of the site and project.

  • Minimum of 15 years of construction experience, including large-scale renovations and MEP-heavy projects.
  • Demonstrated success in managing federal or government renovation projects, particularly with historic or mission-critical facilities.
  • Experience working under NAVFAC or similar federal agency standards is highly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of safety protocols, government site requirements, and historic preservation procedures.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage complex site logistics and personnel.
  • Proficiency with construction management tools and reporting systems.
