- Plans, schedules and organizes the work to ensure utilization of employees and compliance with all contract requirements, quality standards and budgetary guidelines
- Ensures staffing levels of supervised personnel are maintained in a manner which allows the effective execution of the assigned scope of work at all times
- Instructs employees on the work methods and performance expectations
- Provides leadership and motivation to subordinate personnel
- Interfaces with groups inside and outside the organization, senior management, and auditors. May be assigned special projects
- Responsible for providing direction, training and evaluation of Shift Operations personnel
- Assists with the development or review/update of various plans, policies or procedures as needed
- Assists with maintaining positive employee relations
- Responsible for group supervision and administration
- Assists in the preparation and implementation of approved Conduct of Operations & Operations program
- Monitors administrative and financial controls activities to ensure compliance with the project's policies, procedure
- Supervises continuous maintenance of control systems employed to facilitate execution of client and project goals
- Provides technical and/or functional support to the Operations & Emergency Management team
- Provides technical support and oversight for Nuclear Criticality Safety operations. Perform duties complex in nature.
- Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures and applicable regulations and performs assigned duties in a safe manner. If supervising others, has responsibility for the safety of those being supervised and ensures they comply with established safety policies and procedures, and practice safe work habits Actively participates in Safety Work Groups
- BA/BS degree in a related field and 7 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Typical experience ranges from 7 - 10 years.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of and experience with nuclear facility operations
- Experience in emergency response as a member of the plants Emergency Response Organization
- Knowledge of and experience with DOE nuclear facility safety including technical safety requirements, processes and reporting requirements
- Attention to detail
- Expert PC skills including Microsoft software
- DOE “L" or “Q" clearance or ability to obtain a DOE “L" or “Q" clearance
