- Install, modify, and repair new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment within facility infrastructure such as sewage, water, oil, and gas distribution systems, and water closets, tubs, fire sprinkler systems, showers, fixtures, fittings, appliances and specialized equipment. Work does not include pipefitter work to be conducted on the installation's main distribution systems.
- Work from building plans, blueprints, and sketches to lay out the routing, placement, slant, slope, fall, and proper operation of systems and equipment. Install, modify, and repair systems like those described above by locating and tapping main lines, setting up system routes, placing and cutting route openings, placing hangers for proper level and slope, and determining and installing valves, traps, and unions needed for proper operation of systems.
- Install equipment by completing the routing and placement of systems leading to the equipment, and seating, hooking up, and testing the equipment.
- Apply knowledge of the operations of various systems and equipment, including their placement, slant, and slope, and be responsible for the layout and completion of installations, modifications, and repairs with little or no guidance.
- Test, inspect, repair, and certify backflow preventers.
- Respond to plumbing repair and maintenance trouble calls. Calls are received by the Regional Call Center, which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. May be required to respond after normal duty hours.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least three (3) years of experience with commercial and domestic plumbing systems.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain HSPD-12 clearance and DBIDS credentials for worksite access.
- Must hold appropriate license(s)/Certification(s) to perform job duties in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
- At a minimum, a record of completion for the OSHA 30-hour Construction Training Course is required. A record of completion for the EM385-1-1 Construction Safety Course (NAVFAC or USACE) is required within 45 days of performance start.
- Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.
- Demonstrated knowledge of repair, installation, assembly and troubleshooting of plumbing systems.
- Ability to use various plumbing tools, such as augers, pressure gauges, and leak detectors.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret instructions, specifications, and guidelines used in plumbing installations.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise dexterity and safety in using plumbing tools and equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to perform preventive maintenance and operate safely.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work in a diverse, flexible, deadline driven, government environment.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Must be able to work independently and be well organized.
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.

- Pay: $42.98 per hour.
