In the absence of the Administrator or their designee, the Patient Care Administrator (RN) is entrusted with the authority and responsibility to make administrative decisions, drawing upon their knowledge of the organization's standards, policies, and procedures.Essential Responsibilities:
The CMMC Patient Care Administrator (RN)will report to the System
Director of Capacity Management and Throughput, and the BH and RH Patient Care Administrator (RN)will report to the V.P. of Nursing.
Facilitation of throughput by demonstrating effective communication,
utilization of throughput resources, and clinical solid decision-making skills.
Placement of all patient admissions and transfers via the Capacity
Management Bed Board
Updates and collaborates with the Administrator on-call and specific
department leadership
Assign and monitor staff on an ongoing basis to promote effective staff
utilization
Provides clinical support to all patient care units as needed
Represents Hospital/Nursing Administration in their absence
o Leads Incident Command in the absence of an Administrator and/or designee
Effective communicator with the ability to create strong relationships;
serves as a role model through professional behavior and open, direct communication
Responds to change productively, promotes enthusiasm for change
Leads all bed huddles within the scheduled shift and participates in
required leadership meetingsQualifications:Education and Experience:
Graduated from an accredited nursing school and holds current licensure in
the state as a registered professional nurse.
Current Licensure from the Maine State Board of Nursing.
A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or must currently be enrolled in a
Bachelor’s program
Minimum of 2 years, preferred 5 years’ experience as a staff nurse.
Clinical Patient Care Administrator (RN)or Nursing Leadership experience
preferred, with demonstrated leadership abilities.
Possesses strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrates interpersonal relationships that enhance communication,
promote conflict resolution, and facilitate staff development.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Basic computer knowledge.
Strong clinical skills and knowledge to sustain and evaluate competence in
the care of patients in various clinical settings.
