- Minimum 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting
- Master’s degree in nursing, education, leadership, or other healthcare related field
- Minimum 1 year of leadership and management experience in a healthcare setting
- Pediatric experience, preferably NICU
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
- Professional Nursing Certification required upon hire or within one year of hire
- An understanding of process improvement and project management
- Must have excellent written and verbal skills
- Demonstrates the ability to organize workloads and resources
- Has strong interpersonal skills to interact positively and productively with a variety of personnel within the hospital, including administrative and executive staff
- Manages environment for delivery of care.
- Acts as clinical resource for patient population in area.
- Maintains ability to assist with clinical care.
- Participates in educational process related to delivery of healthcare.
- Maintains own professional development.
- Fosters professional development of others via constructive performance feedback, input, and coaching.
- Provides leadership for project management and change.
- Participates actively in and supports shared leadership councils.
- Fosters collegial relationships between team members, other departments, and medical staff members.
- Demonstrates fiscal accountability in supporting budget preparation, monthly analysis, and compliance to budget guidelines.
- May serve as unit leader in absence of manager.
- Participates in achievement of organizational and departmental goals.
- Participates in departmental national recognition data collection processes and analysis.
- Facilitates and coordinates work toward care standardization and performance improvement in accordance with evidence-based practice.
- Performs other responsibilities as required.
