This issue has been reported in multiple states. The text scam poses as an Elwood Staffing recruiter and urges job seekers to apply for a fraudulent job. Some have reported they are being asked to contact them using Whatsapp to pay for computer equipment and background checks.What steps should you take if you suspect you've received a fraudulent text?

Job-seekers who receive an unsolicited text, email, or similar message suggesting it is from Elwood Staffing should not provide any information.
If you have clicked a suspicious link or shared your information, take steps to secure your personal and financial accounts immediately. Review and dispute any unauthorized charges.

Helping you stay secure - how to recognize a scam

Elwood Staffing does not utilize mobile apps or messenger services to connect with job seekers. We will not reach out to you through or suggest that you use WhatsApp or other messaging platforms outside of regular SMS text messaging for communication.
Our recruiters will never ask for personal information such as your social security number, date of birth, or bank information prior to onboarding. During onboarding you will enter your information and passcode protect it.

This manufacturing company has been stable since 1994 when it opened the doors. They have grown extensively during this time and are looking to add to their team. They manufacture small electrical components, springs, and coil springs for the automotive industry.What's in it for you?We have openings for inspectors and machine operators on all 3 shifts. There are opportunities for pay increases regularly, and opportunity to be hired on full time. We also pay weekly! Pay varies based on department and shift. Ranges from $14.48-$19.85. 1st shift- 7am to 3:30pm 2nd shift- 3:00pm to 11:30pm 3rd shift- 11pm to 7:30amElwood Staffing associates are eligible for a comprehensive and competitive benefits package plus an exclusive savings program, including:

Machine Operator Details:

Temp-to-Hire position
$18.85 to $19.85 /hour
Full Time work available
Various shifts available

Cleaning parts in machines and preparing for next step in process, operating different machines and or a spring machine. Log all information into systems and maintain production.Machine Operator Qualifications:

Must be able to stand 8 to 12 hours
Must be able to lift 25lbs
Must be able to work overtime and weekends
Must have steady work history
No experience required
Pre-employment drug screen is required as a condition of employment
