Job Description Summary We are seeking a technically strong and strategically minded Engineering Manager to lead a subsystem team focused on developing calibration techniques and algorithms for CT imaging systems. This role serves as both Functional Manager and Technical Director, guiding a team of approximately 10 engineers through the design, development, and productization of advanced calibration solutions.You will play a critical role in aligning technical execution with cross-functional priorities, balancing inputs from diverse stakeholders across Imaging Quality (IQ), Systems, Service, and Software teams, while maintaining a clear focus on delivering robust, scalable solutions.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership & Technical Direction
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering growth, collaboration, and technical excellence.
  • Provide strategic and hands-on technical guidance in the development of CT system calibration techniques and algorithms.
  • Stakeholder Alignment & Collaboration
  • Act as a central point of coordination between IQ, Systems, Service, and Software teams to ensure calibration solutions meet clinical, operational, and technical requirements.
  • Balance competing priorities and feedback from stakeholders to drive consensus and maintain project momentum.
  • Facilitate clear communication and decision-making across functional boundaries.
  • System-Level Understanding
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the full CT imaging system—including tube, generator, collimator, and detector—and how it impacts image quality and calibration.
  • Drive system-level thinking to ensure calibration techniques are robust, scalable, and aligned with product goals.
  • Project Execution & Delivery
  • Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Champion engineering best practices, continuous improvement, and innovation.
  • Conducts component and product integration. All activities that span multiple components and products and are concerned with how to integrate for maximum performance and operability. Manages product and systems requirements, specifications and flow down. Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing. Responsible for defining product requirements for the module / component / subcontractors and partners teams. Manages interface between components and execution organizations. Responsible for driving CTQ / Risk trades within the teams designing the components. Manages the overall product configuration and configuration control system.
  • Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering roles, with 2+ years in a leadership capacity.
  • Proven experience in algorithm development, preferably in medical imaging or similar domains.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Desired Characteristics
  • Strong understanding of CT imaging systems and hardware components.
  • Experience with image quality metrics, calibration workflows, and system integration.
  • Familiarity with medical device development and regulatory considerations.
