We are offering a paid internship position that will give college students the opportunity to work on high-impact projects and interact with professional guides in the renewable energy field. The position is structured to accelerate the development of young professionals in Hawai‘i, providing hands-on, project-based learning opportunities in a working environment. Provides the opportunity to play an important role in helping Hawai‘i transition to a clean energy economy.RESPONSIBILITIES:As an Intern, you will contribute to business and project development initiatives, and carry out tasks for both internal and external stakeholdersSupport projects and project teams with: reporting, data analysis, project development, permitting, communications, presentations, community and stakeholder relationsAssist with the development of materials for meetings, presentations, hearingsGain exposure to different career opportunities within the renewable energy industry through relevant and increasingly responsible work and/or defined project assignmentsParticipate in additional developmental and skill building opportunitiesWillingness/ability to travel to job sites and assist with hands-on work as neededPerform all other responsibilities and duties as assignedSKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program, preferably in business, communication, management, engineering, environmental studies, computer sciences, planning or related programPreference will be given to local Hawai‘i residents and/or attending college in Hawai‘iStrong interest in the renewable energy industryComputer literate and proficient with Microsoft applicationsOutstanding verbal and written communication skillsDetail oriented – must be able to meet deadlines and handle multiple prioritiesMust enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced and changing environmentAbility to work independently and collaborativelyProof of vaccination will be required upon your start dateThe remote position will require the candidate to be based on O‘ahu, Hawai‘i, and potentially attend in-person meetings or travel interisland for business purposesAES is an Equal Opportunity Employer who is committed to building strength and delivering long-term sustainability through diversity and inclusion. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
