
Mechanic

- Ensure all vehicles and equipment are kept in good working condition to avoid delays in production.
- Ability to work on various makes/models of vehicles, including -but not limited to – Ford, International, Cummins, and CAT, Hino, Sterling, Kenworth and Mack.
- Ability to use manufactures’ manuals and schematics.
- Ability to troubleshoot/diagnose and repair components of vehicle equipment, i.e., engines, transmissions, differentials, ignition systems, charging systems etc.
- Ability to troubleshoot/diagnose and repair electrical systems, i.e., lighting systems, electronic control systems etc.
- Ability to perform all routine preventative maintenance of entire fleet from light to heavy duty.
- Ensure all tools are maintained and work area is kept clean.
- Apply knowledge of air compressors, generators, shooters and, boilers.
- Possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience required.
- Must have the ability to work unsupervised.
- Must have strong background in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials).
- Must provide own tools.
- Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade (hand and power tools) required.
- A valid driver’s license is required (with an acceptable driving history).
- Current CDL license with air brake certification preferred
- Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions required.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- VA state inspection license is a plus.
- Certifications are welcome but not necessary
