In this role, the Proposal Consultant will focus on research, writing, and development of strategic and compliant sales proposals and questionnaires. They will work closely with the Proposal Team, Sales org, and subject matter experts to deliver persuasive proposals that articulate the value of athenahealth’s model, solutions, and services.The Proposal Consultant will also be responsible to help curate, grow, and update a library of existing content.Over time, you will be responsible for responding to vendor security and technical questionnaires from prospective customers as well.The Team:The Proposal Consulting Team is part of the Client Solutions Group, within Sales. The Client Solutions Group is comprised of various teams that help accelerate growth by delivering a world class value story of our software and services.Experience and Education RequiredMinimum of 4 years of proposal writing and development experience, ideally in Healthcare ITBachelor’s degree preferably in a relevant discipline such as business writing and development, English, CommunicationsRole ResponsibilitiesPrepare RFx responses: reviewing, formatting templates, editing for clear and concise value messaging, and production adhering to department procedures and best practicesExceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, attention to detail and accuracyAll projects meet or exceed deadline, and compliant with evaluation criteriaCoordinate and manage all assigned proposal activities and timelines with project teamCommunicate assignment requirements, project team role in the process and timeline expectations, status updates, and deliverables to stakeholdersDevelop and maintain knowledge of product solutions and industry changesContent curation and maintenance as described above in the position summaryParticipates in in Team, Sales Org, and Product enablementOver time, complete ad-hoc projects and participate in initiativesRequired Knowledge & SkillsUnderstanding of or past experience in the healthcare IT solutions and industry is idealExperienced in:Proposal writing and developmentProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat–formatting, editing, and production using templates and stylesPrior experience using a content database; Upland Qvidian preferredAdvanced Project Management experience.
