Summary:
The purpose of this position is to apply technical skills to design safe, cost effective and reliable distribution power facilities for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
The role will take details from fielders and turn them into new drawings or adjust existing drawings.
Job Duties:
Prepare project and job packages that include material lists, requisitions, labor estimates, site drawings and construction drawings for various installations of electrical facilities in a cost-effective manner that maximizes safety and service reliability.
Read and interpret blueprints, maps, change orders, improvement plans, construction specifications, procedure manuals, operational procedures, etc.
Perform drafting work and assist in the preparation of designs, plans and reports.
Make accurate engineering calculations.
Learn, practice, and promote ALL safety policies and procedures 100% of the time.
Apply various codes, requirements, regulations, policies, and procedures to all assigned work.
Use various design software and work management tools.
Evaluate distribution equipment such as transformers and fusing.
Follow utility construction practices on public right of way (ROW) and private land.
Regularly communicate job status to assure client expectations and deliverable dates are met.
Coordinate with construction personnel and clients to resolve any project issues.
Develop relationships with key internal and external customers while supporting both company and clients business goals and expectations while representing themselves both positively and professionally.
Maintain files and records in an organized manner.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering
CAD experience
